Sadly, Jan Silvious will not be able
to come to Beauty for Ashes in May.
On a trip to China this March she
had some heart problems, so it would
not be wise for her to make another
long-distance trip…BUT the good news
is that Grammy nominated, Dove award
winning singer/songwriter Kim Hill
will be coming, so will talented
keyboard player and backing singer,
Paulette Wooten. We are in for a
real treat! |
Angela Thomas is the author
of 11 books, including the
bestsellers Do You Think I’m
Beautiful? and My Single Mom
Life. Angela’s writings and
ministry have grown from her
time of deep brokenness when
her marriage ended in
divorce. "You learn how to
love people when you're
broken."
In fact,
her brokenness during that
time has helped her minister
to women with an even
greater passion and
understanding. "So many
women out there are 'just
living.' They're keeping the
schedules, running their
homes, keeping up with work
loads, and going through the
motions, but deep inside
there's a nagging emptiness.
They think, 'If I had a
different job or lived in a
different place, then it
would be okay - I wouldn't
feel this way.'
"But,” she insists, "I know
that I know, this is not the
life God has intended for
us." Angela is a speaker you
don’t want to miss!

Kim Hill, a Grammy-nominated
and multiple Dove
Award-winning
singer/songwriter, began her
journey in the Christian
music world in 1988 with a
self-titled debut that
launched two number-one
singles. After a successful
turn in Christian music, Kim
tried her hand at country in
1994. The video for her hit
"Janie's Gone Fishin'"
reached number one on the
Country Music Television and
VH-1 country play lists. Her
re-entry into Christian
music in 1997 coincided with
her new passion for worship
music and with being asked
to lead worship for Focus on
the Family's then-new
Renewing the Heart women's
conferences. When Focus
stopped hosting the
conferences in 2003, Kim and
two other Renewing the Heart
regulars, Lisa Harper and
Eva Whittington Self,
launched their own
conference series, Every
Woman’s Hope. Kim has been
busy with this ministry ever
since.
Kim continues to be a
"favourite" for
organizations such as the
MOPS National Conference,
Moody Bible Institute, Billy
Graham’s Training Center at
The Cove as well as for
noted speakers and authors
Max Lucado and Angela
Thomas.
Juggling the
responsibilities of
recording artist, worship
leader, and single mother of
two very active boys, Kim
has found comfort and
clarity in worship and
encourages others through
her music to do the same. "I
think the trials of life
help us see what really
matters...they essentially
illuminate our dependency on
Christ and make His grace
and mercy taste even
sweeter. My personal journey
has made me realize how
desperate I am for the Lord
to help me every moment of
every day."

Paulette Wooten is a
creative and passionate
musician, worship leader,
songwriter, and speaker.
She travels extensively and
leads worship and teaches in
worship schools and
conferences around the
world. In 2009 she
founded, “Girls Out Loud:
Women in the Worship Arts,”
a musical sisterhood birthed
in Charlotte, NC through
friendships and a common
love for honest songwriting,
good coffee, and an
amazingly creative God.
Girls Out Loud is igniting a
movement of women to find
their own uniquely
expressive voice.
Along with accompanying,
co-writing, recording, and
producing for other worship
leaders. Paulette has her
own unique style as a
worship artist. Her
first solo album, “Take
Flight,” is an amazing
journey into new sounds
bringing a fresh fire for
worship to all who listen.
In June 2010 she is
releasing her first Live
Worship Album, “Settle
Here.” Her heart is to see
people walk in complete
healing body, soul, and
spirit, and be who they
truly are.
